We see my sister and her kids once a year. Each time we see them we have a little photo shoot. It’s challenging to get a 1,2,3 and 7-year-old to look at the camera at the same time with their eyes open and smiles bright. Sometimes it works but most of the time no matter the timing, the treats, or the silly jokes it’s not always a success.
However, I am usually able to capture their mood and personality quite well one at a time. Then of course there are the funny ones where I say open your eyes, and they open their mouths. Or the ones where the boys show a little more brotherly love than necessary. To keep it real I have included some of the out takes. It’s not all smiles during most photo sessions but its all part of the process of photographing kids.
Then there are the random shots which captured everything from my youngest nephews fascination with brooms, all the bike riding and the moment where my youngest suggested switching hair with my mom!
